Connecting Non-Profits

The Minnesota affiliate for the Susan G. Komen Foundation recognized the potential benefit to participate in some social networking spaces.  I feel fortunate to be helping them step into this world and really beleive that putting a more personal face on the Twin Cities Race for the Cure.

Using social media to connect with survivors, patients, race participants, supporters volunteers and other non-profits feels like a great next step to mobilizing support during the other 364 days of the year. 

As a place to start,  Twin Cities Race for the Cure is now on Twitter - @tcracecure

I also created a Facebook Group.

We have talked about a number of blogging initiatives including the creation of a "Share Your Story" space on the affiliate site.  I'm thinking I want it to be forum-style so that the visitors can collaborate there.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.
